Schweppes Zimbabwe limited continues to show its support to the elderly people and children

This visit not only exemplified the company’s dedication to corporate social responsibility but also aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those focusing on health, well-being, and community care.

During the visit to the Old People’s Home in Chitungwiza, Ropafadzo Gwanetsa, the Corporate Affairs Executive, extended her heartfelt support to about 35 elderly residents, acknowledging their significant contributions our lives. Spending quality time with these elderly people, engaging in meaningful conversations, and listening to their stories, the company’s team fostered a sense of respect, admiration, and companionship. In addition to their presence, the beverage manufacturer generously donated a selection of beverages to the Old People’s Home.

Simultaneously, the company extended their caring support to Chinyaradzo Children’s home in Highfields, a place that provides shelter and care for children in need. Recognizing the vulnerability of these young lives, the manufacturer delivered a donation of beverages, aiming to bring smiles and moments of joy to the children’s faces. The beverages provided a delightful treat, offering a small but meaningful gesture to quench their thirst over the Easter holidays

The visit to both the Old People’s Home and the Children’s Home aligns with several SDGs, most notably SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, as it promotes the physical and mental well-being of both the elderly residents and the children. The company’s commitment to supporting the vulnerable groups also contributes to SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, fostering a more inclusive and compassionate society. This visit and donation reflect Schweppes Holdings Africa Limited’s ongoing pledge to support the elderly and children in the community. During the interview with the media, Ropafadzo Gwanetsa the company’s Corporate Affairs Executive highlighted that these visits are part of a broader corporate social responsibility initiative.
